The Equity of Recruitment – a “Fair” Process? A Curating for Change Sector Forum is a free online event on 13th October 2022, on the under-representation of D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people and inclusive recruitment practices.
Curating for change offers training and fellowships in order to create exhibitions and activities on disable people’s histories. The program is offered by Screen South [EF1] Accentuate Programme 18 month project, their partners include a wide network of museums.
Our take
Curating for change is a great and much needed initiative transforming the museum sector. The project addresses the need for employment of people with disabilities in the sector, while demonstrating the untapped capacity. We hope to see more change in museums adapting their recruitment policies in an inclusive manner, and Curating for Change is a big step forward in this direction.
